Summary TheRemote Appliance/HVAC Technician installs, repairs, and maintains industrialand commercial refrigeration equipment, HVAC equipment as well as all kitchenand laundry equipment and appliances. All duties are to be performed in accordance with NMSmission, vision, and values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Trouble shoots and repairs,as dictated by sound business practices, industrial appliances used in foodservice areas, laundries, and other general service areas. Interprets preventativemaintenance schedules and carries them through the steps needed for completionas noted on computer generated general maintenance/repair work orders. Trouble shoots and repair large tonnagecooling equipment used in controlled environment such as labs or computer andcontrol areas. Attend to the upkeep and repair ofstationary exercise recreational equipment. Diagnose and repair pneumatic systemsrelated to building climate controls. To service and repair heating and powerboiler apparatus including annual and semiannual tear down, testing andcleaning. Lays out the installation of structuraland functional components and installs them as required. Fastens parts together to assemble structuraland functional components such as motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiringharnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, and pipes. Cuts, threads, and connects pipe tofunctional components and water or power system on premises. Pumps specified gas or fluid intosystem. Starts system, observesoperation, read gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves,controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature insystem. Dismantle malfunctioning systems andtest components. Replaces or adjustsdefective or worn parts to repair systems. Insulate shells and cabinets ofsystems. Install wiring to connectcomponents to electric power source. Attends daily safety tool box meetingsand is required to do job safety evaluations for each job. Notify supervisor if safetyand sanitation standards are not being met. Other duties that arepertinent to the department or units success also may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Requirements At least five (5) years experience working on commercial or industrial equipment including but not limited to refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, kitchen and laundry appliances. Universal refrigeration certification I, II, and III. A valid drivers license andan acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible underNMS vehicle insurance policy. Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements to include but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test,physical and fit for duty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for paying for travel to the nearest testing facility. Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients. Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision. Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation. Must be able to live in dormitory style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp. Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English. Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client. Employees must constantly beable to stand, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop, kneel andcrouch. Employees are occasionallyexposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or causticchemicals. Travel: Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus toremote camps. Physicalrequirements: Fit For Duty Test Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to knuckle x2 Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to waist x 2 Lift: Lift 50 lbs. fromfloor to shoulders x 2 Push: push horizontallywith a peak force of 75 f-lbs. with two hands. Stoop & Twist: Performalternate cross over toe touches x 10 each side, self-paced but continuous. Squat Test: Functionallysquat x 5, self-paced but continuous. Kneel: Kneel on one kneeand stand. Return to kneel on oppositeknee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequencex 10 for each knee, self-pace but continuous. Stairs: Climb up and down12 steps x 5 for a total of 60 steps using one hand to grasp a railing forsafety, self-paced: Stairs & Carry: Climbup and down 12 steps x 2 for a total of 24 steps while carrying 40 lbs. in onehand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced. Slanted Ladder: Climb aslanted ladder with 8 rungs x 8 repetitions for a total of 64 rungs, self-pacedbut continuous. Shovel: Perform shoveltest.
